Opus VI – Galloping Inferno

About this artwork

Opus VI – Galloping Inferno is a powerful mixed media painting where two horses made of light and motion seem to burst out of a field of structured geometry. Against a dramatic palette of deep blue, glowing yellows, and muted tones, the silhouettes of the horses emerge from within layered blocks, lines, and textures – as if energy itself has taken on the form of galloping figures.

Created with acrylic paint and modeling paste on canvas, this piece has a rich, tactile surface. The modeling paste builds depth and relief, so that certain areas catch the light differently, enhancing the sense of movement and heat. The horses feel both abstract and recognizable, appearing and disappearing as the viewer steps closer or further away.

With this work, I wanted to explore the tension between raw instinct and constructed order – how wild energy moves through the grids and structures we place around it. The precise blocks and controlled lines suggest stability and control, while the dynamic horse forms carry speed, emotion, and untamed spirit.

As a self-taught Greek contemporary artist, I often work in a series I call the Opus collection, where each painting reflects a chapter of my inner journey. Opus VI – Galloping Inferno continues my fascination with rhythm, geometry, and hidden figures that appear within abstraction.

This artwork is perfect for modern interiors, creative studios, and offices that need a strong, energetic focal point. The bold contrast, textured surface, and symbolic presence of the two horses create a dramatic statement that speaks of power, freedom, and forward motion.
