Opus XI – Prismatic Vortex is an abstract exploration of energy spiraling toward a luminous center. Bold geometric fragments, shifting planes, and layered textures twist inward to form a vortex of color and light. Hints of prismatic tones emerge from deep, dark passages, creating the sensation of motion, depth, and transformation within the canvas.

With this piece, I wanted to capture that moment when everything seems to converge – thoughts, emotions, memories – into a single focal point of intensity. The vortex suggests both expansion and contraction, like a portal or a collapsing star, inviting the viewer to imagine what lies beyond the visible surface.

Painted with acrylics and modeling paste, Opus XI – Prismatic Vortex has a rich, tactile texture that catches the light and enhances the sense of movement. The sculptural surface gives the painting a physical presence, making it feel almost like a carved abstract relief rather than a flat image. From a distance, the composition reads as a powerful, dynamic spiral; up close, intricate details and raised textures reward slow, careful looking.

As a self-taught Greek contemporary artist, I often explore cosmic structures, energetic flows, and the balance between order and chaos. This work is part of my Opus series, where each painting reflects a different emotional and spiritual state translated into geometry, rhythm, and color.
