About this artwork
70×100 cm | 3D radial optical illusion | heavy paste texture | warm rainbow gradient | satin finish | 2026
Opus XIII – Infinite Chromatic Orbit is a bold abstract exploration of movement, balance, and energy in constant flux. Rings of vibrant color rotate around a dark, mysterious core, creating the sensation of an orbit that never ends. The composition feels like a suspended moment in time – a chromatic universe captured at the exact point where tension and harmony coexist.
Painted with acrylics and modeling paste on canvas, this work has a rich, tactile surface. The added texture gives the circular forms a sculptural presence, allowing light to catch on the raised areas and enhancing the sense of depth and motion. From some angles, the orbits almost seem to lift off the canvas, inviting the viewer to move closer and explore every curve and intersection.
With this piece, I wanted to visualize the idea of cycles – emotional, personal, cosmic. The orbit suggests repetition, but the shifting colors hint at transformation: nothing returns exactly as it was. Each loop carries a slightly different energy, a new layer of experience. The deep background anchors the composition, while the luminous hues echo themes of renewal, possibility, and inner evolution.
As a self-taught Greek contemporary artist, I often work with abstract geometry, rhythmic structures, and energetic fields. Opus XIII – Infinite Chromatic Orbit continues my Opus series, where each painting is a chapter in an ongoing visual story about connection, balance, and the unseen forces that shape our lives.
This artwork is ideal as a statement piece in modern interiors – living rooms, offices, creative studios, or gallery-like spaces. Its circular dynamics and textured surface create a focal point that sparks curiosity and conversation, while the sophisticated color palette keeps it versatile and elegant.
