Opus XIV – Golden Currents
Opus XIV – Golden Currents is one of my most tactile works – a painting that almost feels sculpted. The entire surface is built with thick colored modeling paste, applied and shaped by hand with a palette knife to create raised, organic forms across the canvas.
Once these forms emerged, I traced their edges with fine gold lines, like delicate borders on a shifting map. Each area becomes its own field of energy: black, white, green, beige and violet territories flowing next to each other, separated and yet connected by these golden currents.
In daylight, the texture and metallic lines catch the light and reveal new details from every angle. From across the room, the composition feels calm, balanced and contemporary; up close, it invites you to slow down and explore its sculpted surface.
This piece is ideal for collectors who enjoy bold, abstract work with strong physical presence – a statement piece that can transform a living room, office or gallery wall into a space of quiet energy and reflection.
